No. 4 in our series of stories of couples getting divorced.

4. Jeff and Shirley

After 30 years of marriage, Jeff has met his high school sweetheart at a reunion and fallen in love.  Shirley is fuming and angry.  She refused  collaborative process  or mediation.  She has found where Jeff’s girlfriend works and have been making calls and sending faxes to embarrass her at work.  

Shirley keeps going to Jeff’s house asking him to help her with fixing things at her house and argues and blames and yells at him about the affair.

Jeff wants to give her 70% of their marital assets in order to get a fast divorce.  Shirley asks for 90%.

We discovered that Jeff keeps doing things for Shirley and wants to give her more out of feelings of guilt.
